“The Voice” season premiere included Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton in their red chairs and virtual fans.

The final five is set on “The Voice.”

After Monday night’s emotional performances during Fan Week, the field of Top 9 contestants was narrowed down to five finalists on Tuesday.

Reigning champion Blake Shelton, the winningest coach in “Voice” history, now has the best chance at earning his 8th title heading into next week’s finale with two singers in the Top 5. The other coaches – Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Gwen Stefani – each have one singer left on their teams.

“Hell yeah! See y’all next week for the #VoiceFinale!!!! #TeamBlake is well represented!” Shelton gloated on Twitter following the results show.

Here’s what happened:

Viewers’ saves

The artist from each team with the most viewer votes automatically advanced to the finals.

Jim Ranger’s rocking rendition of Harry Nilsson’s “Without You” was enough to move on. The Team Shelton finalist said his “magical” performance dedicated to his father left him “in tears.”

Also, “I got to sing on a giant freaking rock, which was spectacular.”

Team Clarkson’s Desz moved on following a body positive performance of “Don’t Let Go” by En Vogue: “Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t be your full you.”

Team Legend’s John Holiday advanced after dedicating Coldplay’s “Fix You” to his grandmother and Legend’s family, who lost their unborn son in September.

Team Stefani’s Carter Rubin also earned a trip to the finale after making Stefani cry during his rendition of “Rainbow Connection” from “The Muppet Movie.”

Host Carson Daly joked, “You brought your coach to tears yesterday, which is actually pretty easy to do.” Stefani replied, “Hey!”

Instant Save

The remaining five singers – Cami Clune (Clarkson), Ian Flanigan (Shelton), Tamara Jade (Legend), Bailey Rae (Legend) and Ben Allen (Stefani) – went head-to-head for the last Instant Save of the season.

Allen ditched his upbeat honky-tonk vibes for a more somber tone on Matt Stell’s “Prayed For You.” Stefani said the song selection “shows us this other side of you.”

Clune lent her ethereal voice to Billie Eilish’s “when the party’s over.” Clarkson said Clune is the epitome of “The Voice”: “Cami just showed you exactly what she’s capable of.”

Rae highlighted her signature style of old school country on Hank Williams’ “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” Legend called her rendition “charming” and “fun.”

Jade blew the roof off the building with a powerful performance of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good.” Daly said, “I feel like I should have paid cash for that performance.”

“You still can,” Jade joked. “I will send you my Cash App after this.”

Flanigan brought his signature rasp to Travis Tritt’s “Anymore.” Shelton said there’s a “part of me that’s surprised to see you in (the Instant Save).”

With no more coaches’ saves in play, it was up to America to decide who advanced. The winner was decided by a five-minute flash round of voting.

In the end, Flanigan advanced to the finals.

Clune, Jade, Rae and Allen were eliminated after failing to clinch the Instant Save.
