The Undead Walking Podcast breaks down all of The Walking Dead shows in 2021

2021 has a lot to live up to. We’re only a few short weeks into the new year and AMC is pushing the envelope with a stacked lineup of the TWD content across its three shows (and Talking Dead) to get us back on track. The latest episode of the Undead Walking Podcast breaks down AMC’s video that lays out what fans can expect in 2021 from The Walking Dead and beyond.

The video AMC released features “2020” in neon lights and a walker comes along and breaks up the numbers so that when it reappears it says 2021, followed by “New Year, new U” at the bottom of the screen. The “U” morphs into TWDU.

The only confirmed dates in the video belong to The Walking Dead bonus episodes, coming February 28, and Talking Dead, which returns the same night. Fear the Walking Dead 6B is listed as Spring 2021, The Walking Dead: World Beyond is listed as 2021, and then “coming later this year” are The Walking Dead season 11 and Fear TWD season 7.

There has been some talk on social media that Fear TWD 6B is returning in April, which makes sense if the show follows the finale of the TWD bonus episodes. However, AMC has not confirmed this information. They’re likely waiting until Talking Dead returns to make the announcement about April, or it’s possible that the date hasn’t been finalized yet.

Given the fluid nature of the pandemic, it’s not at all surprising that AMC is hedging a bit on firm dates. Fear TWD has been working hard on 6B and they’ve probably started work on season 7 (most of the cast is still in Austin), but as of this writing no work has been done on World Beyond season 2 and it’s unclear how far TWD has moved into filming season 11, if at all.

What this means is that The Walking Dead Universe is going full throttle in 2021 to make up for 2020. It’s very likely that AMC is working to fit as much filming in as possible ahead of contract negotiations for some of the cast members, which could upend their filming plans later.
