Demi Lovato has posted a heartfelt tribute to Naya Rivera on social media.

The 28-year-old pop singer took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend to hail her former ‘Glee’ co-star.

During her weekend hike, Demi posted an image of the sun, accompanied by The Beatles song ‘Here Comes the Sun’.

She wrote on the video: “Miss you @nayarivera [heart emojis] (sic)”

The song was a reference the ‘Glee’ scene in which their characters first bonded. Demi and Naya’s characters actually fell in love after singing ‘Here Comes The Sun’ together.

Naya died in July, aged 33, after drowning at Lake Piru in California.

The actress went missing after taking a boat ride with her then-four-year-old son Josey, and her body was discovered in the lake after a five-day search.

Demi subsequently took to social media to pay tribute to her former co-star.

She wrote at the time: “RIP Naya Rivera. I’ll forever cherish the opportunity to play your girlfriend on Glee.

“The character you played was groundbreaking for tons of closeted queer girls (like me at the time) and open queer girls, and your ambition and accomplishments were inspiring to Latina women all over the world. (sic)”

Kevin McHale, who played Artie Abrams on ‘Glee’, also previously played tribute to the actress.

The 32-year-old actor described Naya as the “most talented person” he’s ever met.

He said on Twitter earlier this year: “She was so independent and strong and the idea of her not being here is something I cannot comprehend.

“She was the single most quick-witted person I’ve ever met, with a steel-trap memory that could recall the most forgettable conversations from a decade ago.

“She was the most talented person I’ve ever known and I’m furious we won’t get to see more. (sic)”
